The macronutrients

They are called that because humans have to consume them in relatively large quantities compared to micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, trace elements). They provide us with energy.

  • Carbohydrates

    ... are an essential source of energy for us. They are found in abundance in bread, pasta, rice and fruit . They are broken down into simple sugars, such as glucose , which your body particularly likes to use to generate energy. By the way: fiber is nothing more than indigestible carbohydrates . However, eating it is often particularly beneficial.

  • Fats

    ... are important nutrients that provide your body with a lot of energy and, for example, ensure the building of cells and hormone production . Olive oil contains particularly good fat.
